The San Juan College Foundation is excited to announce Cayele Wilson as our 2024 Trustee Scholar!
As the third recipient of this prestigious four-term scholarship, Cayele will receive campus housing, a meal plan, and a book stipend, ensuring she has the resources needed to excel at San Juan College.
A Remarkable Achievement and Vision
Cayele’s application and resume stood out for their excellence, and her passion for making a positive impact on others is truly inspiring. "We are privileged to have such a remarkable student attending and contributing to San Juan College life," said Gayle Dean, Executive Director of San Juan College Foundation.
Academic Excellence and Future Goals
Graduating as Salutatorian from Navajo Preparatory School in 2024, Cayele was also a candidate for the International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma. Her academic achievements have paved the way for her to pursue a career in psychology, driven by a genuine desire to improve the lives of others.
A First-Generation College Student with Big Dreams
As a first-generation college student, Cayele credits the San Juan College Foundation for playing a crucial role in helping her achieve her goals. "I aspire to become a child psychologist, leveraging my passion for understanding human behavior to positively impact the lives of young individuals facing emotional challenges," she shared.
Cayele plans to earn her Associate of Arts in Psychology at SJC before furthering her education to specialize in child psychology. Her choice of major reflects her deep commitment to contributing to the well-being of others.
Embracing Self-Care and Hobbies
In her free time, Cayele enjoys reading, listening to music, hiking, and crocheting—activities she considers essential for self-care and maintaining a balanced life.
